Michael wrapped his arm around Justine's waiste perfectly, he felt his hand shaking as he did it. She smiled, even though it was a false smile it made him feel much better.
"You know how I feel," he sang as they swayed their bodies back side to side to the rhythm of I Just Can't Stop Loving You.
"Okay stop stop stop!" Jeffrey stopped the music, "Why are you so stiff Michael? What's the matter?" He asked. Justine looked looked down at her shoes, she didn't want to seem nosy even though it was just as much her business as Michael's.
"Nothing, I'm just not really all here today," Michael shook his head, he smiled, "But it's fine just play the track one more time," Michael said. Justine got into the position where they left off. "How about we have you two mingle a little bit and then get back to it, that way you don't feel so awkward," Jeffrey said, he walked out of the hall to go get some refreshments.
Michael looked at her, he didn't know if he should talk to her or not after the day before. She sighed and sat down by her duffle bad and tied her hair up. Michael tried not to stare, he felt embarrassed to even look at her after yesterday. Michael hoped she'd say something to him, like an apology or something. She pulled out a notepad and a pen and started writing. That's it. Michael thought.
"Why don't you talk to me? Is there something wrong with me?" Michael asked. Justine looked up at him, her jaw dropped a little, "Um, excuse me?"
Michael couldn't believe his words came out exactly that way, he got up, "I mean... I tried to talk to you yesterday and you blew me off, and now we're supposed to be mingling and you just shine me off with your notepad, and everytime we dance together you loosen the grip of our hands as if i'm some type of smelly... Thing," Michael said.
Justine got up, "Are we done acting like little kids now?" She asked sarcastically.
"What?" Michael asked.
"Boo hoo Justine doesn't wanna be my friend, Stop your complaining and get over it. Michael Jackson can't stand that he's not getting all the attension for once, sorry I'm not impressed that you do this," she grabbed her crotch, "all the time," She shook her head and sat back on the floor. Michael shook his head aswell and sat on the chair by the radio, pulling his fedora hat down slightly that was his protection.
He saw Justine look over at him slightly, he looked away as quickly as his eyes would allow. Jeffrey came back with pretzel sticks, "Why are you two so far apart?" He asked. No one said anything. Michael took his hat off and got up to run through the dance again, he was ready to go home now.
