Michael walked into the house, tired and frustrated. He took his sweatshirt off and hung it on the coat hanger, then headed up to his bedroom.
"Michael is that you?" Katherine asked.
"Yeah it's me, you're still awake?" Michael asked, passing up his bedroom and heading into her's.
"Of course I am, been worrying about you all this time. Where were you and Brenda?" She asked, setting her book down beside her and slipping her eyeglasses off.
"We went on a little joyride up to San Francisco, it really isn't a big deal. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I just didn't know we were even gonna be going anywhere... But everyone's home, everyone's safe," Michael shrugged. He didn't like how he was being treated younger than he really was, but with all of his fame he didn't blame Katherine for being startled; anything could have happened.
"San Francisco? Are you crazy? You were roaming a big city like that, unsupervised, late at night?" Katherine asked. Michael didn't know what to say, he nodded and looked around.
"Mr. Talia was very upset..." Katherine said, "He called me asking if I'd seen Brenda, and when I said she was supposed to be with you at their house he blew a fuse because that wasn't so... I was a little upset myself because you didn't tell me,"
"I'm sorry mother, and I know, he hates me now, everything was Brenda's idea anyways. He wouldn't buy that for a second though, he thinks everything is my fault," Michael sat at the end of Katherine's bed.
"He doesn't hate you..." Katherine shook her head.
"He does... He told me to stay away from Brenda, just like this, 'YOU STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!' .. Like that," Michael pointed his finger and attempted to make Mr. Talia's angry face. Katherine laughed a little. "It's not funny," Michael said looking down at his hands.
"Michael do you know why he said such a thing?" Katherine asked.
"Why?" Michael asked.
"Because Brenda is an only child... And she is his daughter. There's something about fathers when it comes to daughters that makes them very protective. He was worried, and he was scared. Of course he's going to blame you, but he's not going to hold this grudge. There's just alot going on within thier family right now, so things come off way worse than they need to. You just need to wait for him to calm down," Katherine explained.
Michael stood up, "You're right..." He yawned, "I'm off to bed, real tired and I have to meet Quincy in the morning. Love you," Michael kissed Katherine on the cheek, "Goodnight,"
"I love you too, goodnight Michael," Katherine picked her book back up and continued reading.
